Feeble attempt at a (somewhat) open thread

Here's to hopin' that Carville & Co. has been able to focus our message enough for our candidate to be semi-coherent!

Thoughts on debate? Y'all make sure and comment so we don't look all lonely with our empty "open" thread. Will check in later. Enjoy.

Erskine definately made his own deadline to raise $200,000 by midnight, and with hours to spare. 1,685 people donated an average of $119 per person, for a total of $201,144 so far.

Put on the special jerseys. Good night for Democrats.

Let me quote George Tenet: “Slam dunk.” Senator Kerry won the debate, and it was a shut-out. One three-pointer after another. Yet Bush resembled more the Carolina football team than the basketball team. He was on the defensive all night, and then when it came time to put his offense on the field, he fumbled the ball—over and over again.

If George Bush could not control the stage or control his own message, how can he be trusted to lead this country and this world? The president was frantic and desperate. Kerry, on the other hand, proved he is the cool, confident, knowledgeable leader we need to succeed in Iraq and the War on Terror.

Kerry succeeded in knocking Bush off guard and turning the President’s own words against him. I think the American people saw tonight clear differences between the candidates—and a clear win for Senator Kerry. His record now stands at 1-0.

While I understand your metaphor and appreciate the spirit under which it was offered, I can't say I love the crack at Carolina football. Sigh. However accurate it may be.
